Moscow International Financial Week (MOSINTERFIN)
Moscow International Finance Week (MOSINTERFIN) was initiated by the International Financiers’ Guild (IFG), which is chaired by the Vice Premier, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, Alexey Kudrin. The inaugural session of the forum is scheduled for 18th-21st October 2011. The objective is for this new forum to become the major annual international event in Russia on financial issues. It has three principal aims: first, to support the development of the Moscow International Financial Centre and the improvement of the investment climate in Russia; second, to strengthen the competitiveness of the national financial and banking system; and third, to facilitate a constructive dialogue on how global financial reform should be shaped in order to support sustainable growth.

MOSINTERFIN is a joint venture between a number of Russian partners, headed by the International Financiers Guild (IFG), and City & Financial Global Limited, the organiser of the successful City Week in London. It is supported by Ernst and Young, which co-chairs the top level Foreign Investment Advisory Council under the Government of the Russian Federation (FIAC). The inaugural session of MOSINTERFIN will be held on the day after the next annual FIAC meeting, which is chaired by the Prime Minister of Russia. This will enable MOSINTERFIN to attract the FIAC members, which include chief executive officers from the largest international companies investing in Russian business and finance, as guest speakers at the new forum. Most of the speakers and delegates will come from outside Russia, with a particular focus on representation from the BRIC countries and other emerging markets. The core audience will comprise leaders from the financial world — the senior management of financial institutions, top politicians, industry experts and leading businessmen from multinational companies.

In his capacity as the Chairman of the MOSINTERFFN Organizing Committee, IFG President Alexey Kudrin has invited the following individuals to join the Committee: the Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, the Chairman of the RF Central Bank, Sergey Ignatyev, the head of the Moscow Financial Centre Taskforce, Alexander Voloshin, representatives from the world leading financial centres and the heads of the World Bank and the EBRD, as well as other important figures from public and private financial institutions. Membership of the Committee is not closed yet. Some other core participants are expected to join, including senior representatives from a number of MOSINTERFIN commercial partners and sponsors.

While incorporating some elements from other well-known international business forums, it is anticipated that MOSINTERFIN will develop into a unique event with its own distinctive appeal for the international and local financial community. It will include an exhibition and an attractive cultural programme.
